Translation

I’m a translator of Spanish and Italian into English. Some notable recent translation projects include:

-Translation from the Spanish of “To The Electric City",” a long-form story by one of my favorite writers, Sergio Chejfec, in the Fall 2021 issue of The Evergreen Review. Read it here.

-Two multi-chapter story cycles for children (one from Spanish by Fran Pintadera, and one from Italian by Elisa Mazzoli) for the innovative children’s audio story company Lunii.

-All Spanish translation for supertitles in the James & Jerome play The Conversationalists at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and The Bushwick Starr (reviews here and here).

-Supertitles for the Chilean play Nanas (Maids) by Leonardo Gonazlez for LaMicro Theater in New York.

-A lecture text by Chilean playwright Leonardo Gonzalez for the book release event of his play Nanas, at McNally Jackson Books in NYC.

-Commissioned by artist JJJJJerome Ellis to provide a new translation of Juan José Arreola’s short poetic story “Deer,” which JJJJJerome reads aloud on the track “Interlude 2” from his album Live Vol. 4: Apartment Concert 05182018.

-A poetic lecture text by poet Hector Alves, which he delivered at a book release event at Mcnally Jackson Books.

I’ve also done a great deal of commercial translation work, including: film subtitles, asylum-seeker letters and documents, complaint and harassment reports by housekeeping staff at major resorts, poetry and song lyrics, and extensive translation of medical and legal documents.
