Composing

I work as a music composer, solo and in collaboration, for my own projects and for others’ projects, for live works and for recorded works.

Select recent compositional works include:

-I’ve composed music for six in-gallery audio experiences by myself and Janani Balasubramanian, which can be experienced this fall at The Bard Graduate Center Gallery in NYC in conjunction with its Threads of Power exhibit on the history of European lace. You can listen to all 6 pieces at this link.

-I composed an original score for Paulownia, my full-length original art lecture / electronic music performance created on commission for The Momentary, in August 2022.

-I composed and arranged selected pieces for the score to Claudia Rankine’s play Help, at The Shed in spring 2022.

-I composed and arranged selected pieces for choreographer Jerron Herman’s work Vitruvian, at Abrons Arts Center in spring 2022.

-collaboration with JJJJJerome Ellis to co-compose the full score to Marvel’s Wastelanders: Hawkeye, a 10-episode fiction podcast from Marvel Entertainment and SiriusXM, directed by Rachel Chavkin.

-collaborative composition work on various Jerome & James projects.

-work as a composer (along with JJJJJerome Ellis) on The TEAM’s Reconstruction: Still Working But The Devil MIght Be Inside

-Scoring a video by Shawn Duan, exploring a 16th-century Persian illuminated manuscript for an online event hosted by Williams College Museum of Art (video available here)

-Music for this video I made for the Ars Nova Forever Telethon

-Composing the score (along with JJJJJerome Ellis) for Andrew Scoville and Dave Tennent’s Love Machine, Incubator Arts 2013.

-Composing the score (and performing it live) to my show Reception (Here Arts, The New Ohio, etc., 2012).

-Composing the score (and performing it live) for Andrew Scoville’s John Faustus and the Overclocked Death Drive, The Tank, 2011.
